“It’s the time of the season for loving.”
~ The Zombies
Since Japan’s triple whammy earthquake/tsunami/reactor breach, the world has been vacillating between love and fear, our polar emotions. Should we dismantle all nuclear power plants? What about nuclear weapons? From a meta-perspective, Rob Brezsny produces fusion.
In Love Bomb, he dares, “Think of the nuclear bomb as a gift, a terrible and sacred taboo that mobilizes our love for each other better than any other symbol.
“It is the most spiritual, most supernatural material object in the world … No other spectacle inspires more perverse attraction.
“At night our dreams turn the bomb into the philosopher’s stone, the pearl of great price. Our blood is alive to its alchemy … we recognize the bomb as our impossible teacher because it harbors a dangerous light that seems to mimic the sun.
“It’s ours. We made it. We imagined it into existence so we could remember that we are all one body. The bomb is a blind, a fake, a trick memory we’re sending ourselves from the future … Let’s call the bomb a love that’s too big for us to understand yet.” How do we comprehend a Love so huge? Shrink the planetary to the personal. Reconnections channel Daniel Jacob suggests, “The word nuclear refers to something that is going on at the very center of a situation or a person. The nucleus of a cell is the central core that contains all its vital information … the very essence of what that cell is.”
Kaitlyn Keyt describes how the negative can be positive: “All atoms have a negative (-) feminine and positive (+) masculine charge. The more out of balance an atom becomes, the more radioactive and destructive it becomes. They call this an over reactive atom and it comes in different degrees of destruction, from electronics to cell phones up to x-rays, nuclear plants and atomic bombs.
“If you feed these atoms negative ions, (which can also be the feminine Earth energies) they will become balanced and peaceful again. When you have balance not only does the energy become non destructive, it becomes creative healing energy!”
Nicholas Patler explains how we can use our collective consciousness to transmute a potential nuclear disaster. And Louise Hay, one of my own great teachers, pares it down to choosing what we read, watch and think.
Jacob adds, “A nuclear emergency, happening anywhere on Planet Earth … challenges humankind to its very core … threatening either to destroy us absolutely … or to lift us higher than we’d ever believed possible.”
Our kundalini fire, our life force energy, is simply another form of “nuclear” power … “something that starts at our Sacral Root, and works its way to the Crown Chakra … bringing with it everything and anything that corrupts, corrodes, or limits us in our expansion. How far do we go? How deep into inner exploration do we travel?”
To connect with and help assuage Mother Nature’s birth pangs, we can view what’s happening on the world stage through a local lens: the death of a loved one, a health crisis, bankruptcy, house fire … how did you survive this crisis, and come out the other side renewed, resurrected, reaffirmed?
At the core, we’re all one. Just as earthquakes are no one’s “fault,” recovering from a disaster is no single party’s responsibility; we all play a role in the healing. Nowhere has this been more apparent than in Japan itself, where the degree of love and service, an abiding sense of all-one rather than alone, infuses this Earth family as they determinedly begin to rebuild.
The Hebrew phrase tikkun olam comes to mind: “repairing the world,” which signifies a responsibility not only to the Jewish community, but to society at large. As we awaken from our sleep of self-forgetting and knit up the raveled sleeve of care, we perform tikkun olam for this birthquake moment. Rocked to the core, we’ve never been closer to becoming one global nuclear family, united in Love.
